I started with IT as a kid, on an Amiga 500, and have been hands-on ever since. In 35 years I have built, broken, rescued, and rebuilt systems of every size: domain controllers older than some of the people running them, hybrid identity that has to just work on Monday morning, and automation that removes the boring parts so people can focus on what matters.
Today I work as a hybrid IT consultant where infrastructure, security, cloud, and AI meet. I can talk business goals with management in the morning and patch a firewall rule in the afternoon. I have worked with a wide range of vendors and platforms, so I recommend what fits your setup, not what a partner program pushes. I prefer the safest long-term solution, I say it plainly when something is risky, and I document what I build so it keeps running without me.
IT is also my hobby, so the building does not stop when the workday does. After hours I run a homelab, work with local AI models, and automate whatever I can, which is where a lot of new ideas get tested first.
I am formally trained in computer science (a Danish AP degree), with a school year in the USA along the way. I work independently and in a structured way, I am analytical about problems and humble about what I do not know, and I keep enough humor around to make a long migration night bearable.

03 // TIMELINE
Every era taught something the next one needed. This is the ground I have covered.
BOOT
late 1980s
It started when I was a kid, with an Amiga 500. Then command lines, floppy disks, and coax networks: learning how computers really work, one config file at a time.
CONNECT
mid-1990s
Servers become the heart of the business and the internet goes from novelty to necessity. In 1995 I founded my first business.
DIRECTORY
2000s
Active Directory, email, and the first serious security work. The domain controller becomes the most important box in the building.
VIRTUAL
late 2000s to 2010s
Virtualization and shared storage change everything about how infrastructure is built and recovered. Failover clusters keep the workloads running when a host goes down.
HYBRID
2010s
Microsoft 365, Azure, and AWS meet on-prem. Hybrid identity and security baselines become the core of the job, and Storage Spaces Direct turns plain servers into hyperconverged clusters.
AUTONOMOUS
2020s to now
Identity becomes the control point, Zero Trust the design model, and on-prem clusters are run from Azure through Arc. Automation is expected, and AI agents start working alongside the team.

I keep going until it works. And if it's something I haven't done before, I learn it fast.
